Have they shrunk the skybox again?

Today I was in the vicinity of the Founders World looking at the galactic plane, toward the center, and I noticed a very obvious curvature within my field of view. It was distracting.

I'm aware that it's always been there to some extent, but the last time I took note of it (1.0--haven't played much since) the curvature at least seemed mostly outside my FOV. I could see that the universe was just a small globe surrounding me, because the the galaxy itself would start to curve as I followed it across the "sky." Now I can clearly see that I'm in a small globe just by looking out the front window.

And it's not just that universe is a skybox --- I can sort of forget about that as I play, just like I can forget the other shortcomings within the rift --- What I can't "unsee" is the fact that the galaxy is literally bent in the middle.

Has anyone else noticed a change in either of the last two patches, or is it perhaps just a change in my settings, or perception, since I last played (1.0)?

On a side note. I'd like to ask this question in general discussion, but I wasn't sure if it would be considered a duplicate post or would be against the rules or what. I posted it here first because the skybox is much more obvious in the rift. So if anyone knows off the top of their head if I'd be breaking any rules by posting the same question there, please let me know.
