Have we been able to confirm when the tick really is?

The reported tick is always around 22:30 UTC. We aren't seeing updates for 10 hours. Which is around 2am on the east coast of the USA.

If the tick really is at 22:30 but then we don't know the effects for 10 hours then it is going to make playing the BGS impossible for American adults with 9-5 jobs. Tick happens while still at work and then doesn't show updates until the middle of the night.

From what I noticed the tick happens in the systems my PMF cares about atm anywhere between 6pm to 12am EST. Now the squadron tab always displays our faction's tick in our systems hours before the actual system does. It has gotten much better since the last update being that our systems have all ticked in system before 10pm EST the past week.

re:Horizons btw

not to mention the many systems that are seeing inf changes every 12 hours.

some, every 4 hours

it is the biggest mess I have witnessed regarding the tick.

fdev seems interested in aiding it, if we point out where.

my response to this, and to that has been to mostly stop playing the game I have enjoyed since it released.
I put a lot of time and effort into systems for my bgs, only to have it whacked so hard as to make me wonder why I bother.
this one is soo much worse than when carriers were released. that was recoverable even though it took away over a years effort.

this release has destroyed more this time.
and the interest shown in fixing it tells me very clearly, stop now. find a different hobby.

the investment of time an effort was fun, but not taking such a hit again is preferable. twice was twice too much.
for me to continue would mean I firmly believe fdev won't damage my area of bgs again, They have proven this is not even a concern to them.

I recently spent 12 hours straight in CZ's in 1 system. the win:loss ratio changed 3 times.
so...f this. this is not fun this is us beta testing on the LIVE version and watching years of effort getting destroyed with no reasonable way to stop it or fix.
during that time frame, another system went from pending war to close defeat to defeat.
during this time frame another faction retreated from 2 systems.

the list goes on and on....
currently its more like trying to dam the ocean and all your property is way below sea level.

Really need to dig out Davs latest info from the live stream and document it properly.
AFAICR there are 3 phases

1. Faction State tick. Conflict days etc. This happens almost immediately, but is only visible in station news.
2. Edh station influence is applied. Takes an hour or so. Appears in journal.
3. Edo settlement influence is applied. Takes an hour or so. Appears in Journal

He claims the whole thing only takes 3 or 4 hours and has numbers to back up the claim, but like you I see it taking 6, 8, 12 or even not being recognised at all in a tick.

He said they were planning on moving the visibility of phase 1 till later, and that's what the release notes for patch 5 suggested, but I have seen no difference.

Is it me or is the tick overdue? My faction is in a conflict and it appears I'm running a day late.

Or maybe it's the cough medicine.

We had 2 that were at least 8 hours late today - Station News reported the change, but Jorunal did not (I double checked what I was sending to EDDN).
1 of them has now been reported, dont know about the other, virtually any RL Activity is more fun than chasing BGS ticks.
