Have you guys ever heard of the Grateful Dead?

I know this is a pretty international board.

They're really psychedelic and they're playing their last shows right now.

They've always given plenty of respect for space.

Yep. American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto California USA. Saw them at the Hollywood Music Festival in the UK in 1970.

Seen Bob Weir in a band called RatDog in Bilston, near Wolverhampton. In a four hour set I think they played six songs.

Huge props to you both.

I got to see the Grateful Dead 14 times.. with Jerry of course.

They're playing their last shows. Jerry hasn't been with us since 95'

They still sound good.

Yes, a coworker of mine is a "deadhead", as they like to call themselves. Apparently the band takes LSD and advocate it's use. Most of their songs and concerts are performed while under the effects of LSD.

Let me gues, the first five songs were done in 30 minutes, and the last one was a 3h 30m instrumental with a 90min drum solo? :p

Thanks for the link will check these out, i quite like 65 days of static.. another band who often doth their cap to Space (They are actually doing the soundtrack to another free roaming space game that i wont mention).
I first was made aware of them when Uncaged Monkey's put one of their songs as a backing track to a montage about NASA's (impending end of) Space Shuttle program, it was an outstanding audio-visual piece.

Although wikipedia states that the name-origin of the band is unclear.. and i'm trying to rack my brain but I'm SURE it was mentioned on that night it has something to do with received intersteller transmissions from one of our probes.
