Haven't I seen this game before?

*I accidentally posted this message in the wrong forum (sorry Mods), so I'm going to try and re-post it here.

I played a game about a year or so ago, that was EXACTLY like the one currently being developed..in EVERY way. The graphics were superb, and the game-play was great. I only stopped playing after I became a tad bored.

I cannot for-the-life-of-me, remember what it was called, and cannot locate it in my current library.

Can anyone think of what game I may be confusing this one with?

could you be talking about OoLite? the fan recreation of the original elite?

Could it have been X, X2 or X3?

Black Prophecy? It does share a few similarities with Elite now that I think of it, not major similarities, but some settings and areas.

It couldn't be Black Prophecy, he said the game play was great.:p

Maybe he is talking about Evochron Mercenaries. Come to think of it, that game was fairly boring.

Maybe he was just dreaming.

Going out on a limb here as I cannot think of any other games out a year ago that are exactly like Elite: Dangerous.

Was it Robocraft? Where you construct robots and fight other players in arena matches?

Seriously though, I cannot think of anything like Elite a year ago. Even Elite's Alpha 1.0 blew X-rebirth away in the graphic department, especially the cockpits.

Did a cat pass by an interior doorway twice prior to you playing that game?

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure we'd all be aware of a game that's EXACTLY like ED, a year ago. Unless of course we chose to be reinserted into the Matrix. :D

YES! Thank you! It WAS X3 Terran Conflict or Albion Pride(?). Anyway, yes that was it...and it is almost EXACTLY what is being proposed here...with a few new and enticing changes. Multi-player being a large difference...not that I'll ever go within a hundred miles of the multi-player portion of the game.

Not surprising, the X series first game was Beyond the Frontier, a nod to the previous 3 Elite games it was inspired by.

Ive played both those games(like em both) and they are nothing like Elite Dangerous .So please dont expect that if you buy the game .Head over and read the DDA archives for good info :) http://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=36
