Having 2 Cmdrs.

I'd like to have one cmdr for exploring, and another for running around the bubble with a player group. Is there a reasonably easy way to have 2 copies of ED and 2 separate Cmdrs? I have the second software key already. I'm not sure if I should register using the same email address. How would I switch between them?

I would ideally like to be able to play either account from either of 2 computers.

One account per commander. So a different email address. When you start the launcher, just log in as whichever you want; you only really need one copy installed.

For reference: I have 3 PC commander accounts (kofeyh, ‘not available’ and ‘cookie clicker’) and an Xbox account.

This is what I do.

You can also remove the need for logging into each account by:

1. Make copies of the file EDLaunch.exe in the EDLaunch folder and rename them to (for example) EDLaunch-CMDR1.exe, EDLaunch-CMDR2.exe etc.
2. Put shortcuts to each of these copies of the launcher file on your desktop, again renamed for each commander.
3. Click the launcher shortcut for the commander you'd like to use.
4. After you've logged in once, your credentials for that commander will be saved.
5. Repeat for all the launcher shortcuts for your accounts.
6. Now you can launch an account just by clicking its shortcut and it will already be logged in.

+1, I guess this was not part of the Beta I've been hearing about.

You probably already know, but with an XBox license you can have as many accounts as you want.

I'm running into problems. I installed my first account through Steam. The new key is form Humble Bundle. It is also a Steam key. Can I use both?

You can't use the same Steam account for both licenses.

Sounds like it would be a pain. Think I will just buy another copy from Frontier directly. Looks like it is still on sale there.

This is what I do to be able to run more than one account on the same pc at the same time.

Locate your ED folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier and copy to a temporary location.
Open the folder and launch the launcher, Select options and (If not already) Log out machine.
Move the folder to it’s final location, Rename folder, open the launcher and log in as you normally would, ensure to select remember password , Verify and create a new shortcut.

To run both simultaneously, Log in one account, close the launcher and log in the other.
Play with settings to find your computers optimal running conditions.
I run 4 comfortably at 1024 x 720 windowed with the lowest setting possible.

If you could have two CMDRs sharing the same ships, engineer access, and bank account, that'd be awesome.

FD marketting are still figuring out the absolute best way to maximise profits on this.

Will have to wait for a real system for it.
