Engineers Having a hard time finding arsenic

What exactly am I looking for on the planet surface/wave scanner to obtain arsenic? I believe you can also obtain it in rings/belts?

On the wave scanner you are looking for bars accompanied by a sound like a geiger counter as it scans... <click, click...click click>. If you aren't hearing clicks you are following something else other than a materials node or outcropping (technology, your own ship, whatever, the scanner picks up anything and everything and identifies different types of object mainly by sound but also by waveform). The sound is easy to get, the waveform takes a bit more practice. In the start, the bars on the wave scanner are wide, and the clicks very faint (you'll have to stop to hear them probably), but they get louder and more distinct the closer you get and the better the direction you are facing. Land in between two craters.

here is a list of rings to find arsenic: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/337796-testing-of-mining-for-materials

i generally switched to using barnacles, though: the barnacles on merope 5C have arsenig, but especially this list is golden:

another good way is to use geysers and fumaroles: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...Fumarole-Location-Catalog-and-Data-Collection

arsenic can be found from nearby all sources of the wavescanner, but doing so can also be frustrating, as you'll get many other materials in the same nodes.

Arsenic will pop from Mesosiderites, Bronzite Chondrites and Metallic Meteorites.

This will familiarise you with the wave signature of each rock type.

Basically just drive in any direction and wait for something that resembles your signature and then home in on it.

It takes some practice but be patient and you will soon get the hang of it.

I was just about to post that that site is pointless and broken. Then I tried it on a pc, instead of a mobile device. Great site!!

I don't bother looking. Instead I head to a barnacle site that has it, such as this one:

Barnacle with Arsenic and Cadmium
Pleiades Sector LN-S B4-3 C 3 -13.1651 -54.358

Ofc occasionally the barnacle will be on its Dead cycle, but most of the time it's pretty simply a case of harvest everything, log out and back in again, rinse and repeat until you have enough.

+1. That should be a perma-ripe barnacle and should give you a chance of meeting a Tharagoid.

So despite it being on a dead cycle it will still give out element materials?

I took an alt to the planet above. It's quite a ways from the main star, but the barnacle is alive and giving out rares. I've only done 1 round of collecting (no relog) and have collected 6 each Arsenic and Cadmium and 3 Tin. There are common mats as well, but I've ignored those. Collected 5 Meta Alloys while I was there. There's a CG close by to deposit those.

No Tharagoids yet.

Get 'em while they're hot.

<edit> 2nd round, got Tellurium and more Arsenic. </edit>
