Having a thought...

posted something like this a few days ago then realized something, if the tracked rides such as the train and monorail are able to use more than one station for guests, then why cant coasters, from looking at the coding side of things there exactly the same with loading and offloading the guests, completing their run and dropping them back off at the station or a different one. So why do we not have this for the coasters ? all the station animations are already there ?

I believe Frontier commented on having separate stations for loading and unloading, not just multiple stations for coasters in general.

I'm also wondering this. We've been asking for multiple stations for a while now.

They would be great for all track rides and coasters.

I'm with you all on this, but i see a Problem. If they use the same System as for the Monorail for example, then the Guest has a Goal in mind where he wants to go. It is not just that he travels to the next station and gets off. So if that would be the case with coasters, it could be that only half the Train gets loaded because the people want to get out at the next stop. Or, in reverse: If they change the system that People get off at the next station, the transport Rides would be rendered pretty much useless.

I don't know how easy it would be to apply different modes for a Coaster and for Transport Rides.

That's probably accurate Crowdpleaser, which is unfortunate. The AI for guests already takes a lot of CPU to calculate travel rides as each guests must recount all of their actions based on which route is faster. Sad :(

I do think however, that it would make total sense for any track ride to be used as a travel system, maybe we could have an option to switch between "standard ride" or transport ride for any track ride if thats how we choose to design a ride, this game should be about creativity not limitations

A checkbox called "Transport ride" in the ride operations tab.
If checked this would allow guests to remain seated at the next station if they wish, if unchecked they are forced to get out at each station.

Well this doesn't magically program itself. What i was getting at was: How easy/difficult is it to actually program it that way.

I would love 2 stations for coasters, I'd be able to have an accurate "Flight of Fear" recreation in my Alpine Valley park. Plus it would save so much time loading a train vs having to wait for them to unload.

I don't see a real "time" advantage here. Guests will still need to get of the ride, whether that be on another station.

If coasters have a limit of 2 stations with one exclusively for boarding and the other exit only, the Guest AI ( lol ) won't have to make a decision of which station to go. Of course a valid concern is if it's even possible to separate coaster stations from transport rides.

Would like the option to give certain coasters and exit station.

guests can get off at one station and then the trian can be sent along to the next one, most coasters use block sections before the coaster enters the station so the empty train can be held outside the station until the train leaves, then simply take its place.
