Having faith and giving encouragement

I've also found myself feeling a little disappointed at a couple of things but nothing which is watering down my pre-order. The thing is, as somebody is pointing out on Steam, this new game is built from a blank page. Absolutely everything needs to be re-written and clearly lots of thought and community suggestions have been added. Maybe in some respects it was worth saying nothing about Planet Coaster 2 for another 6 months but it's here now and we should be having faith and giving encouragement to Frontier for what has surely been a lot of hard work. I've got used to the idea now that some things are missing. But we'll see them later for sure. Relax and enjoy and celebrate the upgrades that we do have because it does look like a great game. Here endeth the lesson 😂

Yesss positive vibes :D. I understand the disappointment on some things, but it's been very negative in the threads here, which is unfortunate. I'm still really excited for the game & hope the vibes will become more positive and constructive around here.

I understand what you mean, but lets not pretend "built from a blank page and everything has to be rewritten". They had 90% already in terms of assets and what not. They have all the experience. They just had to update it to a newer engine and add stuff. But still a lot of stuff from the first game is missing. So it's perfectly understandable people ask questions about that. Usually a new game offers the same stuff from the first game + more. But when a lot of stuff is missing, people will ask about this.

It is good to offer criticism. If not they would have no reason to work hard and deliver a worthy sequel.

Also one thing I do not like is the false advertising.

  • In the beginning they talked about multiplayer which the game doesn't have, it is only savegame sharing.
  • The switch tracks you see in every promotional video but they aren't switch tracks they are special coaster elements that only work on very few selected coasters.
  • Security features from first game aren't present
  • Guest cap of 6k guests is also a step backwards from first game
  • Park size being smaller is also a step backwards from the first game
  • Theme maker toolkit or custom images not being present at launch and so on
  • No Steam Workshop

It is perfectly understandable people talk about these issues I think it's all justified especially for a €50 or €65 premium price tag seeing that they did not had to reinvent the wheel they only had to update an 8 year old game.

Well said for sure. This post however is here to celebrate what is there and support Frontier. I do have quite a few questions myself but let’s just have faith that Frontier do care about their audience.
For some reason people think we can have unlimited assets and unlimited guests and unlimited space to build in. Where has this mindset come from? We are all working on limited hardware and it’s up to the developer to find that balance of quality while allowing as many machines as possible to run their product. That complaint from people always confuses me. We will always be limited. Always! Frontier has only ever proven themselves as THE developer in the theme park sim genre. RCT3 was a revolutionary product. Planet coaster is an amazing piece of software. Planet Coaster 2 is set to continue this amazing legacy and I’m so excited to be here for it!

How did we take the leap from expecting basic features from Planet Coaster 1 to be in Planet Coaster 2 to 'unlimited stuff'

Not sure it takes much of a leap when the list in the original post mentions the guest number limit and the park size limit. What’s the alternative to having these limits? Unlimited!! I posted a direct response actually. Not to mention the rest of the community being very vocal about these limits everywhere you look. I mean what number would please the community? Is 10,000 a good cap? Maybe it’s 20,000. My point is to simply address this “limits” topic and pointing out that limits will always exist. If the guest limit and park size are less than the first Planet Coaster, I can’t imagine it was done to tick off its base. I’m just saying there’s a reason it’s there.
Again! Thank you Frontier and this amazing game! They posted that they have heard the community and that’s what’s important.

I'm going against the grain and think the limit is good.
I get some people, especially the YouTubers, have far better computers.
I've upgraded my GPU recently to be on the recommended level according to "Can I Run It" website, whilst my CPU is above minimum but below recommended. That's my next purchase in January/February (MOT on car depending).
I get we can put our own limits, but making it more user friendly for everyone is a good thing.
But currently my pc runs good with 6,000 peeps with PC1. PC2 may need extra than what 1 needs and thus limiting it helps the Devs realise what they need to do to better enhance our experience.

My understanding from the statement is that the guest limit is a placeholder until testing is done with all us guinea pigs and our rigs. The park maps are the same size as the large maps in Planco 1, according to Vampiro who has been doing some checking.
We've known this information for over 24 hours.
And yet, the guest limit thing keeps being brought up on so many threads.

Please people, it's going to in our hands in less than 24 hours.

If you don't like what you see so far, no one is forcing you to buy it.

Knowing what a blast I had during Alpha of Planet Coaster and knowing that this game is already more than that game was at launch, I know I'm going to have a lot of fun. No one is saying that PC2 is perfect, but I'm willing to take a chance on it.

And to Rich Newbold (who's a really lovely guy) and the rest of the guys in Team Frontier, thanks for all your hard work. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us. 💙

Lots of positivity in this thread! Having been reassured by recent developments, I've embraced all that makes this game a major step up from the original. This franchise has meant the world to me over the past few years, having made all the difference to my mental health and leading me to meeting some of the loveliest bunch of peeps I've ever stumbled across. It's been a long road, but I'm ready to get stuck in with Planco 2! :D 💙

...also I think this thread might be in the wrong channel. This is under Suggestions! 🤭😂

Yes. That's one of the really amazing and special things about this game. The community is a beautiful, special thing. I've met many amazing people and made some really good, genuine friends. It's great that we all meet up in real life too.

I would never have met amazing people like yourself, RubberKerffufle. I look forward to seeing you again, (it's been too long) And I've just got home from visiting Crowdpleaser in Germany and going to Europaparc and Rulantica with him.

None of this would ever have happened if it wasn't for this amazing community and Frontier. This really is an amazing place.

Theme makers Toolkit was only added to Planet Coaster at the end of it's life. It was never an original game feature. Planet Zoo does not have it either. I would imagine if we were to get it again, it would be years away again.

Thank you all for the great vibes! I totally be with you in every point. Because of work-times we (my girlfriend and I) did just scratching the surface of the game yesterday. Even if we don't have high-end machines, the game is running stable and fluid. No crashes, no problems in any way. We didn't had any problems with the ui. So far we are having a blast! Happy building! :D
