Having issues but having problem finding the right thread...

I have been asking for info regarding the map for travel, I have got the same responses from multile people but, there haven't been an answer. So, I'm posting here...

For 3 weeks now I have not been able to use the map at all. I can't click a star, set a route or even get info. I can't accewpt mission cus I cant go anywhere so, I am loosing game time and the ability to make money in the game. "I am stuck it one system and cant get out!!!" I uninstalled the game last night and reinstalled still to have the same issues. W** is going on. Could someone give me an answer, not give me links to other forum posts that also don't give an answer. I am beginning to become really agrevated. I don't get agrevated easily but this is getting rediculous. Trying to get an answer or help with this game is like trying to get ahold of the president personally on the phone....it's all been a run around. So, I am asking for any answers to this problem. I am trying to be a patient as possible however, as many of my friends that have gave up and uninstalled this game, I don't want to do the same. But, if I can't play it whats the point of it taking up space. This game should have never been released in the state it was in, in the first place. But, I try to overlook that and keep telling myself it will get fixed. Unfortunately right now I am starting to think this is not the case.
So, is there someone who can help figure out what is happening here or should I just cut my $ loss and forget this game?
Like I said I don't want to get rid of the game but, if there isn't a solution then I will have no choice....
Sorry to rant but, it's just frustrating when you buy something and can't use it.

I read you uninstalled and then installed the game, while you did that did you also make sure to remove any left over data?

Usually a computer reboot takes care of a bit, clean up the registry takes care of some.
Making sure the instalation folder and any folder located in Appdata regarding Elite Dangerous are removed would remove more.
Then perhaps also delete the folder created in my documents (if any) to delete any lasting setting files.

I've not got the game installed yet so I'm unsure of the locations, but people usually think reinstalling a game is the solution which is only half the answer, you need to make sure all the data is wiped to get a clean install.

Once I got the game installed (SLOW internet) I'll see if I can help you futher.
In the mean time when did you first notice this, and did you do anything to cause it or was it suddenly?

It sounds like you have unbounded your select button for the galaxy map.

As a workaround fix you can use the left panel to select a different system.
Also you could try using the galaxy map search function and typing in a system name manually and pressing enter/return, that should bring you to the system to select it/travel to it.

Try Ste's suggestion of checking bindings, if not best of luck I have no idea...

Main menu -> Options -> Controls

Check what the preset is at the top, if you have any controllers plugged in such as an x-box controller the select button may be A instead of left mouse button.
Also check the option below and try that to change the select button:

Yea, tried that to...And still the same...I also now am getting the to much mass statement and have nothing in my cargo hold...geeze...I type in a system and it goes back to nothing like nothing is registering. When I am in map and I click on the plot route or set route function I get unable to plot route even if it's the system right next to me...SO, I don't know...

It sounds like you could have the wrong FSD. What does it say your max jump range is in the right panel. Look at functions in the right hand panel, below the little pic of your ship.

Yeah, also go to a station and check your jump range (outfitting information panel bottom right). Any chance of a screenshot of the problem and maybe one of your ship outfitting?

Do you have thrusters and FSD drive in your ship ? I suppose that you have fuel in your ship.

One thing comes to mind. Is it possible that you have a really weak FSD and you bought more massive powerplant or shield generator ? What ship do you have ? Can you post a picture of your outfitting ?

Thank you all for your help. You guys have given more info in this short amount of time than I have been given in 3 weeks. I will get in game as soon as I get home and check this stuff out.

PavelKCZ Thank you bro...that was part of the issue I also had keybinding conflics. So, I upgraded all that stuff and removed my speed pad. Now, I can p[lay again.
