Having some trouble with Oculus.

Hi everyone.

I'm having some problems getting into Oculus, at first I was getting a not connected to the Internet message even though my PC and Steam was all connected fine.

So I tried signing out of Oculus and then back in but it won't let me sign back in, it loads a little then a black screen comes up as if it's about to load but then it just goes back to the sign in page.
I've tried making a new account and the same thing happens so it's not my account and I can't find anything about this problem online so thought I'd check in here if anyone's got any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

The Rift still plays Elite through Steam so that's one good thing at least.

I heard flights are cheap right now...
Have you considered camping outside Oculus head office?

And I presume you are not having any other issues with your internet?

Have you tried reinstalling the Oculus application?

<< Network/Systems Admin by trade... so I'll try and help if I can.

No haven't reinstalled Oculus yet but probably the next thing I'll try, I was just looking up backing up my Oculus Games so I don't have to reinstall them all.

Yeah funnily enough I have very recently had a problem with my Net and Phoneline, they came out and sorted it the other day and all my speed and latency tests are fine and my IPad and TV all are working fine but it does seem like a bit of a coincidence that this is happening after I was getting a Not connected to the Internet message.
If for some reason Oculus is struggling to connect to the Net would that cause it to keep sending me back to the sign up page?
And is it possible that even though my speed and latency seem fine there's still an underlying issue with the my Internet?

Its more likely that Oculus was running when the internet went out and something got wonky with its config or something.
I'd try reinstalling it and see if that helps.

Yeah let me know. Got several of them at work so maybe I can reproduce the issue if it doesn't solve it. [After work, on my own time, obviously]

Are you launching ED through Oculus Home/App or via the ED Launcher (with Oculus running in the background)?

If launching directly via Oculus, you have installed the game in Home/the App yes? (I had to ask, there was someone earlier who had not). Have you enabled 'Unknown sources' in the Oculus settings?

When you say you created a new account, you mean an Oculus account, right? (cause creating a new Frontier account would not be a good idea :))

I had a similar (or same) problem as the OP. Oculus would constantly say it couldn't connect to the internet despite me having no connectivity problems. It turned out it was looking to connect to graph.oculus.com and could'nt find it. I was advised by Oculus to put: 31.13.95.61 graph.oculus.com into my hosts file. This work-around cured it for me. I had tried everything, checked firewall, reinstall of Oculus and ED but it seems it was some sort of DNS error.

...

Just thought I'd get back as it's been a while.

Still haven't gotten round to reinstalling yet as haven't had much time, it did let my sign back into Oculus though so I at least have access to my Games library now, though it still says unable to connect to the Internet all Games are working fine.
I've got all next week off work so as it's working enough to still play, I'll leave it until the end of next week until I try sorting it just in case anything goes wrong.

Cheers (Blairvoyach) for that mate I'll make sure to give that a try before I reinstall and thanks both for letting me know where to put it as that would have been my next question [up]

Hi guys, well I finally pulled my finger out and got round to sorting this issue (well trying to).
I tried adding that to my host file but to no avail, then uninstalled Oculus but when trying to reinstall the Software, after clicking agree to terms and conditions it gave me a cannot conect to Oculus, check Internet connection message.

This problem first started not long after an Internet issue but it seems to be working fine for everything else other than Oculus? I'm getting low latency and good speeds on streaming or downloading Movies/Games, watching YouTube or anything else Internet related so not sure what's going on.

Any help anyone can give me on this would be great.
Thanks.

Sorry I forgot I'd posted this here....

No tried turning off Firewall but no joy.

I've actually got this working now but only in the older Home version, if I opt into use Oculus Dash I get the can't connect message again?

I'm back in so it doesn't matter to much but Anyone got any ideas why this might be or how to sort it?
