Having trouble handing in some passenger missions ? - heres a solution

If this has already been posted then please of course ignore.

I found tonight that some passenger missions although completed could not be handed in, it turned out it was because some of the fee
was to be paid in commodities, and my Beluga did not have any cargo racks.

So I simply put some passenger cabins into storage and fitted some temporary cargo racks - i could then cash in the missions after selling the commodities.

I had rinse and repeat (sell commodities) again to clear space to cash in further passengers fees.

Hope this helps someone, again apologies if I have repeated a live thread.

You'll need at least a small amount of cargo space to run passenger missions anyway, because sometimes they want you to buy them something like clothes or consumer electronics, and you have to keep those in your cargo hold until the mission is done.

Is the Orca or Belugia required for passenger missions, or can any old ship run them?

Are they required for *specific* passengers/passenger types?

I'm starting to comprehend the difference in Cabins, and regular vs VIP passengers, but I can't quite discern if anything is ship-specific from the forum chatter.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet myself.

Any ship can carry passengers, but only the orca or beluga can fit luxary cabins.

And for clarity VIP passengers pay more but you will be unable to put any extra passengers in the same cabin as them.

Thank you, this was pretty helpful as I wanted to sample the whole passenger mission thing with an Adder that I hadn't used in a while before I purchased an Orca or Beluga. I swapped out the single cargo rack with an economy class cabin and took on a short hop to a nearby system. Once I landed I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to hand in the mission. This would explain it.

Thanks again.

Thanks OP. I had a similar luxury passenger mission and was unable to complete it. Had to abandon it in the end and received a 10,000cr fine from the issuing faction. Will fit a small cargo rack next time.

It's also the same with data rewards, if part of the reward is data and you have no storage capacity left, you have to discard some.
