Newcomer / Intro Having trouble Searching the Galaxy map for a system

Hi everyone, Im trying search for a system a passenger wants to go to in the Galaxy map. But when I search for 'hole in the sky' nothing happened am I missing something? Thanks for any tips!

'Hole in the sky' is the name of a tourist beacon, you won't find it in the Galmap.
The target will be marked on the map with the mission marker symbol - you may need to zoom out somewhat, though. Or you check the mission description (left side HUD, transactions tab) for the name of the target system.

The Galmap is very picky about spelling. Luckily copy and paste from other websites works in the Galmap search on a PC. Sorry per console players.

Regards

As Ashnak said, "Hole in the Sky" is the name of the tourist beacon, not the name of the system.

Navigation tab (left-hand-screen), select the mission, then scroll down to see the destination required.

If you still can't find it, check the list of tourist beacons thread to find out which system it's in.

If that doesn't help either, it's...
in the DRYUAE AOSCS IR-W e1-3926 system

Thanks for the tips everyone! If the destination points Im given are points within systems how do I tell what the system is to see if I want to take the job?

The mission briefing tells you which systems the client wishes to visit, before you accept the mission. Scroll down to the bottom of the briefing screen, in the "Destination" box, it tells you the destination systems, how far away those destination systems are from your current position, and the names of the beacons within those systems that they wish to visit.

All the way at the bottom of the mission description there is a button labeled "Galaxy Map" if you select it the Galaxy Map will open centred on the destination system. This button will still be there after you accepted the mission and it is listed in the transactions tab (handy for replotting routes).
