Elite Dangerous Having troubles to play with a freind...

Hello spaceship pilots, i'm reaching you today because i've got the game recently gifted by a freind and we wnted to play together,

so i did : Open play.

My freind added me to his group, in pause menu -> Freinds and group management i can see him online, i can chat with him (Text and voice) but he see me play in "Solo play"... so i can't see him in the galaxy, i can't do quest with him and stuff...

I tried to re launch the game many times because he plays on the #574 server and not me.

i tried to delete my save...


but nothing worked, so i'm kinda lost right now, the game is a gift and i don't want to make my freind loose his money you know... :/ Soi hope anyone here could help me, here is my commander name : Oxygeen. feel free to contact me on the forum or in game :

Hello, if I understand you correctly your friend is playing in a private group and you are playing open. This is where the problem is, you must both be either in open play or if he is in the private group you must select private group when joining (not Open or Solo). Then he can set his nav beacon for you to follow and find him, or you can set it and he can find you. Apologies if I have misunderstood and if you are still having problems it would be best to contact support from the launcher. Once you are with your friends you will find plenty of help in the Newcomers Forum if you need it. Have fun!
