Hawkins Gap

So, with the megaship that has been found in the Rift, I got to wondering. The Rift wasn't the only area beacons were dropped, so I would imagine that wasn't the only place we might discover ships such as the one in the Rift. I could be way off here, so forgive me if I am.

It's just that I happened to be in the area of the Gap when the discovery was made in the Rift and I am looking for more info, if there is any, on where I should be focusing my efforts while I am here.

I asked this on DRX Discord the other day (not being flash, I did, honest). Nobody knows, nobody can know, really. I asked Drew Wagar on Twitter and he ignored me :(

There must be a reason expeditions were sent out to Conflux and Hawkin's Gap but without a clue or even a little nudge anything out there would be impossible to find without thousands of eyes.
There are millions of stars out there so the odds of finding something on my own aren't good.

Yeah, you are correct about actually finding anything significant by oneself. It just made sense to me that there was more than one expedition, so there should be more ships to be found. For all the talk of things having been in the game since launch just waiting to be found, sometimes I feel as though there won't actually be anything found until they are ready to begin revealing them through clues and riddles.

On my way to the Rift now.. going to check out that mega ship, and those outposts. I might get involved in this mystery.

But, im also tempted to go back home via Crab nebula, check out that 10k population outpost there. wonder what it is doing so far form the bubble.

Yeah I have to choose which ship to take and if I take an Asp I'll have to build one and engineer it and I don't have the materials for Farseer etc

Still need a good 6kly..

Dunno how some people do it.. flying form A to B without getting distracted..

I ping every system, and somehow my mind always tells me to open the system map, i always see something interesting.. EVERY... SINGLE... SYSTEM..... lol

Made 2 jumps yesterday before i spotted a canyon rich landfall planet with magma geysers... spent 3 hours looking for them.. no succes. (hope they make this easier someday. It's the year 3303 for crying out loud. Why can't my ship sensors detect geological stuff planet side? :p )

How is the megaship in the Rift positioned as compared to the outposts? I seem to remember that outposts were found in the other two areas as well.

So my thought is that the other two mega-ships, if they exist, may be in the same place relative to the outposts as the Zurura. It might not give you the exact location, but it could narrow it down.

I would look near ELW systems.. Can't imagine the Zurura was the only ship that needed to deploy probes..

Im doing the same trip now, cant wait to see Crab

Very true. I feel like it would take quite a bit of data on the regions to figure that one out, though. Maybe DRX or Cannon could come up with something.

You guys are all so fast.. lol.. i make 500ly progress yesterday...

Must force my self not to open the system map again..

Entirely depends upon how big of a hurry I am in to get somewhere. In my Anaconda, which I use for exploring and generally just travel around in, I will typically do around 2500ly an hour, if I am pushing hard.
