Haz Res spawn rate/quality poor

Since a while, probably since 3.0 at least we’ve found the spawn rate, difficulty and qty of ships poor in Has Res.

It’s not simply a moan about earnings but between a Corvette and a Chief we often find ourselves with nothing to shoot and no new spawns.

Where are the big npc wings?

Agreed completely.. I don't know what's up with the Hazardous Extraction sites, but everyone I go into is full of Cobra's, Vipers, and Eagles all by themselves.

Oh.. and they all seem to have Police ships in them. I went into the one near my home system (LHS 3006) last night and the only thing in the entire Haz Rez was 8 Alliance Enforcers.

It's really getting old.

They all went to wing assassination mission signal sources.

I hear you Bill, and in the name of fun, I too would like to have a place where I can more reliably get into a fight with some hardcore NPCs.

What if I told you... ...that I don't think HAZRESes are the right place for that?

HAZRESes break my immersion already, I hate them. For a start, why would any miner go somewhere they are GUARANTEED to meet a pirate who will want to kill them, armed only with mining lasers and without shields? Secondly, why would any pirate go to a HAZRES without a full wing of 6, when they should know that these are the number 1 hunting ground of PF bounty hunters? LAstly, in what Universe do the bandits outnumber the regular civilians by 10 to 1?

It's nuts and makes no sense.

Compromised Nav Beacons serve my immersion far better, but are also subject to the same hit n miss spawn rates.

There needs to be another way. My suggestion would be to leave HAZRESes as they are now, places where one can go for big mining profits at the risk of fairly constant attention from manageable bandits. Perhaps introduce some kind of new zone or no-go area where nefarious NPCs might congregate and even spawn in waves.

I get a lot of FAS FDS and that kind of boring ships.
Sometimes there is a Python but a few Elite Condas would not hurt.
I once had a wing of one Python and two FAS.
I recommend doing wing assassination missions solo for a nice challenge.
They sometimes make me use all my SCBs.

I guess the feeling of low challange is the consequence of ridiculous engineering - but I love my endlessly fireing SIX beam turrets on my war Conda.

Hmm, last night I had at least 12 Condas, 16 FDL's and an assortment of other high value bounty targets. 16 million in forty minutes. They dropped some nice rare materials into the bargain.
Add the 40% ALD PP bounty bonus, and it was a nice little hunting spree.

once we had a rockless HAZRES in Beta-3 Tucani... the spawns where awesome! bringing cargo brought allot of risk.. but that is no more.

now thou shall deal with dripfeeding ships in hazres... just like everything else in this game.

I’d also like to offer:

Death by clean Python.

Usually a sign that your fun is over and the res is closed.

RES is closed, due to aids? :)

we just need the Rockless hazres back.. at least that was fun.

There is definitely something wrong when for pure money you can make more in a high resource extraction site than a haz res. Also noticed the general lack of ships let alone big/difficult ones in haz res.

For some strange reason I get larger ships spawn when i'm in a smaller ship, probably coincidence but its rather irritating. Massacres are a bit of a joke at the moment also.

I found that immersion breaking too, but yes, I'd have it back in the name of fun and the absence of anything 'more fun'. :)
you know what you can do with your immursion? :) hehe

end of the day fun is allot more important than immersion, and this game is taking itself way too serious at moments..
i also dont see the point of removing it, its not like i made 100m/h there :p i can understand it wasnt intented, but there is a fine line between a bug and a feature.

I agree. And I also believe that their removal was not intentional. Something shuffles these things at major updates (just look at the changes to CNB systems).

Sometimes I find my res site to be full of only small ships. So I SC out and drop back in again, resetting the instance. Repeat as required. I also think the first of your kills in a res determines the size of future pirate spawns.

I understand that, but nobody asked for this.. lots of people settled in systems because of a RES.
I dont do CNBs, they break my immersion :p

I would also like to subcribe to this thread.

HAZREZ are full of puny little wanted ships. Far too many small ships that aren't really dangerous. I haven't seen a wing of 5 ships for ages, wings of 3 seem to be rare and there's a likelihood that in a wing of three, two of them will be puny eagles or vipers anyway.

Also, my HAZREZ experience does indeed match yours - there are powerplay police and sometimes even local system security forces. What is this, KindegartenREZ?

Can be a bit hit and miss. Been doing the CG bounty hunting thingy this week and quite often there are a few large ships. Yesterday there were only a small number of little ships and the odd FGS despite resetting the RES a few times.

Been in and out of 1 for a couple of weeks now and pretty much maxed out the mats from what you can get there. As I recall a handful of condas, no vettes and no cutters.
Why next to nothing big ships?

because it breaks people immersion when pirates fly corvettes and cutter? :p
