He$$eetants musings

You can make the "visited" filter in the GalMap work that way with EDSM data, if you use the Visited Stars Cache, with the caveats that you'll have to occasionally update it to stay current, and that only shows what EDSM knows about, so there can still be pre-discovered systems that will show as unvisited. But it helps.... a lot.

I set up an account with EDSM and thought that by using my ED username that it would autmajically start helping me track my journey but No. and then when doing cursory google searches and looking at the EDSM site there is no clear and concise instructions on how to get this done. So I gave up.

is this easier to implement?

thanks all

I made it to Beagle Point today, had not planned for it to be new years day 3306 but its got a nice ring to it :)

I was trying to plot to BP from some 9kLY out and it would not "auto" resolve. I had read that the Abyss was a tricky place to cross and so while this would add to my Journey time it would also add an element of difficulty to the success - so I was pleased. Anyway I was about 500ly outside the Abyss when I arrived at my previously determined point. I then started to plot and nadda… So I fired up manual and looked around.... At this point I realised I was actually quite high up, some 350-400ly from the Galactic plane. Disappointingly when I got down to the Plane - or 70ly from it I was able to Auto plot straight to Beagle Point. I knew my ASP with it 48-50ly jump range was not a small jumper but had not appreciated it would be enough to get me to BP with no Jumponium. My hat is tipped to those explorers before me who made it this far on low jump range ships, those first cmdrs must have felt very proud of their efforts o7 to you.

Going to spend day or two in system before heading for Colonia and then on back to Sol.

I cannot believe how explored the Abyss is. There are a few scraps of Ice planets but I’ve given up trying to find new systems and I am just headed out as fast as poss.

I was just auto plotting but considering how far from Sol it is and how little of the Galaxy we have discovered I am floored that there where no newly discoverable systems along the 2 paths I chose. Hats of to CMDR Validating if he/she is still around, you did a good land grab of that sector.
