Head look control scheme

The later half of this week will see me enter into using head tracking when playing this game.

My question, then is how do people have their system set up in general for this? Right now, if I have head look on and I look left, right or wherever, the UI panel for that location appears but i currently have no way to manipulate it after that. I know there is a way to tell that to turn off, but I don't know that that is ideal either.

So, how do others have theirs setup for head look? Do you have the UI panels on when you look in the right place and have some sort of control set up to change tabs etc or do you have it off so as not to obscure your view and just use some other key controls to look at those panels?

The latter for me, I only bring up the pannels on a button press. I'm fairly sure you too will want to turn that auto pop up option off.

I have my panels set to only show when I press a button. That works best for me. I don't like them popping up unless I actually need them for something.

Kind of leaning that way myself. Hope it isn't jarring to suddenly have my neck whipped right and left for the panels. Will see what more people (if any) have to say. No equipment will show up until wednesday.

With headlook enabled the game doesn't forcibly snap the camera to the side panels.

Long time track IR User here.

I leave my “snap today UI” to ON.
That way I have a stable view of the UI for reading.

But yeah - activate UI when looking at it gets kinda old. Especially in the SRV for some reason.

I simply snap to the panels by flicking a hat on my HOTAS...but using a Tobii 4c for eye and head tracking, it got really annoying having the panels pop up just looking around the cockpit, especially in the SRV as you mentioned.
