I know there's a lot of us using different forms of head tracking in ED, it really is the best way to experience all the immersion this game has to offer. Whether you're using TrackIR, a DIY tracker, or Oculus, I'm sure you've all noticed the camera snap to the center now when dropping out of supercruise/hyperspace.
I'm not sure what caused them to add this in, but I assume it has something to do with the way the game transitions. What confuses me though, is that this wasn't always the case. I remember popping out of hyperspace looking out one of my side windows, and everything was still fluid. But now I have to make sure my head is dead center when dropping out, or I get this really ugly jolt that looks like I just got hit with a nasty case of whiplash.
I've always wanted them to improve the transition effects, to make them appear more fluid. While the effects now do look awesome, this snap to center stuff has to go - or at least give us an option to disable it. I really hope the new effects aren't dependent on the camera being dead center.
What do you guys think, can you live with it, or do you feel it still needs improvement?
