Good luck CMDR!

Good to see you are travelling in style :)

Thank God for Tachion Communications, less I feel truly alone.

Good luck. Can I ask how your Adder is specced and how far you plan to go? I'm a noob and I've been focusing on exploring with my own Adder at the moment. The farthest I've been is about 500 ly from civilization and I'm wondering if I should continue saving for an Asp or go out and try something long range with what I have.

I only made about 250k-300k before giving up on bounty hunting and deciding my time was better well spent on more relaxing ventures, here is my Adder load out when I left inhabited space;

Three spaces down on the menu;

Never felt the need to even scoop but I train myself, fuel tank is so big compared to the Sidewinder...and the space in the cabin I feel when looking around more than compensates for the crappy canopy.

I plan to go as far as my will can take me, I will return after I obtain spiritual enlightenment.

Sorry cant seem to delete the other pic but here is the last 3 lines of my loadout.

Fly Safe all, I am bedding down.

Eventually you will get to a point where you will be going farther and farther out to random nebulae, and you will need to scoop and you will get tired of how long it takes and you will upgrade that capability.

Eventually you will also get tired of parallax scanning and you will invest in an ADS.

I started with a basic discovery scanner and no fuel scoop in my sidewinder like everyone else. There is a good sense of satisfaction getting your name on new places that no one else has gone. It's a lot of fun if you put the time in!

Fellow Adder explorer i salute you!
Currently 9k LY out headed to Sag A* in my trusty Adder.
Suuuure i could have bought an Asp, but there's something about the Adder i just love.

See you out there!

No repair modules or heat sink?

Dang, I feel dumb...didnt even realize my modules took wear and tear untill i was looking at that screen shot of my modules...guess I will circle back around and pick both of those things up.

Thanks for the heads up commander!

Best of luck out there CMDR :)

Just make sure you get at least the Detailed Surface Scanner ASAP.
Gotta pay the Rent after all, and maybe you might want an Intermediate or Adv. Discovery Scanner. Basic scans unfortunately pay extremely poor.

I wish i could afford those, I usually just pop my discovery scanner and scan any nearby interesting planets..and then pop it again when im near them...then its off to the next star system...hopefully I can get those modules after my first major expedition.

Before I got my ASP I explored in an Adder and loved it.

The fuel scoop you have looks a tad on the small side. Well, more than a tad on the small side. Personally, my one piece of advice for explorers is: get the biggest fuel scoop you can. Everything else is a series of play style choices, but, scooping... you will quickly find that you need a big scoop.

That's the only reason why I'm not in Timbuktu at the moment -- need that Advanced scanner before going further so to get the full scan and discoveries. First expedition I made like 22 new discoveries an over 600,000cr on it (I've made more on exploration than trading and bounties ... and it's 10x more fun!), but it would've been 2x more with that scanner. :/

About 2k ly out in my adder and found lots of unexplored world's so fingers crossed ill get the tag for first discovered when I get back.

I bought a AFRM but never bothered with a heat sink, so far all system running perfectly except for my hotas throttle stick and plummeting me towards a sun but only scratched the paint.

Good luck out there

If you are on a long trek away from civilisation, why all the weapons/ weight that you'll run out of ammo for??

Heh yeah, the weapons were a last minute decision while i was still traveling to the edge of inhabited space...Didnt want to get caught with my pants down so to speak...I have to head back now anyway for the repair modules so i will prob ditch all the offensive capabilities. Might even try and afford a detailed surface scanner too before I head out on my expedition.

Hopefully the two unexplored planets i found will have my name placed on them when i get back to a station :)
