Heading out the unknown ;)

Ship bought (asp)

double checked stuff no way back ;)

Waypoint aprox:879 ly away (where i ended my last trip)

This time more planet survey ..have a BUGGY ;) srv for the conesir's ;)

4-3-2-1 engage see you on the flipside ;)

Back :)
about 1000ly out or so (had a previous stop point)
Got my name down on some more planets :)
First time head to head with a Goliath on the surface ..i lost my srv no biggy leasson learned hehe.

money wise ..nothing to write about...

Funny/scary moment....I come back and decide on on some little outpost to off load my exp data....get interdicted by a asp(i'm drivin the same) ..oh well still in zen mode...boost away no worries ...shields down quickly ..exp trip had me at 97% ..bang bang....64% hull....NO WAY THIS GUY IS KILLING MY WHEN I JUST GOT BACK AND BEING A AI....he didn't but he tried...alot of curse words later i touch down and data is safe .. :) But zen mode COMPLETELY GONE ;)

To the new explorers: get you setup right (controls, ship, outfit and music) The zen moment will come or allready be there..if you are looking for action on every turn ..you are not ready :)

Once you starting to see new systems..start randomizing it abit....now you have pawing the road ahead imagine the early morning quit streets and uncarved snow on slope..that sort of thing...yes you are the first here enjoy and go get it ...

You don't like the journey the the rainbow but the price is at the end of the rainbow and keeps on giving....

try it at least once ..it is worth it..but you have tp be able to relax...otherwise don't go.

Is the big one coming ..sure someday...

Back to pew - pew and friends :)

Congrats on making it back. Glad you had fun. And yes, exploration isn't for everyone but for those that appreciate it,it's the best thing the game has to offer.

I'm currently 43,000 LY out, wandering up the Carina Sagittarius arm for some reason and can not believe why I am still doing it. It's a bug that gets you if you are not careful.

I was going to be an explorer once. Got myself a Dimonback and headed out in the direction of The Statue of Liberty nebula about 6k ly away. Was making good time with the newly patched nav computer that allowed plotting up to 1k ly. On my second day I was near halfway. Didn't even bother to put on pants by now. Figured no one would see me out there and if someone did - no one would hear them scream. Aahahahaha - yeah, I was already in bad mental shape.

I had other problems too. I could no longer make use of the 1k ly course plotter - every direction and correction I tried I would run out of fuel and had to bring up the map and alter course to a nearby refuelable star. Progression turned to a crawl and my underpants started smelling. Finally I could no longer take the aggravation of not being able to drag the plotted course onto refulable stars. So I took a shower, put on my pants and headed back home. Stayed in the bouble ever since. But I still look at the distant stars sometimes and wonder...

I hope in the future we can maybe drive into a black hole and turn up a random system in the galaxy. Kind of like the jumpdrive malfunction of prevoius Elites.

It's fine now, you can explore the great expanse, plot up to 1kly and get to your intended destination (unless something sidetracks you) with or without pants, and most things work as intended. :)

What I meant was, when you have selected your route end point, it atomatically creates a route for you (based on fastest or most economical). You can't alter that route without selecting a different end point - or am I wrong?
So if there are no refuelable stars on your route, you have to abondon it when you start running out of fuel. It would be nice if I could just drag and drop the line over to a refuelable star and same also past binary stars to avoid those "soil my pants"- experiences.
