Hey Cmdrs. Made my first run and back to Colonial, honked everything and shot probes all over,,thanks for all your tips on the highway. Back in Sol. Was disappointed my exploration rank did not go up but what the heck, keep pushing on. Thanks again much!

Someone said yesterday (before it was removed) that ignorance can be cured, but stupidity is forever.

I've never disguised my ignorance in various instances, and was happy to see it cured, but the one thing that keeps evading me is how a 'bridge' as virtually cohesive as displayed in Ruifo's post is so hard to find, out in the black. There are third party tools which give you the systems bride stations can be found (and they almost always have long names that are easy to mistype), but shouldn't something that took as much effort as the bridge have the technology to show up on the galactic map like service stations, with lots of sign posts.

Of course, it's possible that my not seeing these signs is a symptom of the connection problem I have freely admitted I may be suffering, and if everyone else has no problem seeing the bridge(s), I won't quibble.

No, you're not really missing anything. That screenshot makes it look like a literal highway, and that mental image might make you expect well-marked exit ramps with giant billboards for gas stations and casinos and whatnot. The galaxy isn't like that. Even now that there's dozens of them instead of a handful, each one is a tiny speck of civilization in a vast ocean of stars, and they're not particularly easy to find if you don't already know they're there. Personally I love that about this game, and that feeling of remote isolation is part of the charm. But I understand that it's not the most user-friendly experience.

That's odd. How high was your exploration rank before and after?

Pardon the newbie question, but are you quite certain you actually sold your exploration data? It only counts toward increasing your rank once sold to a Universal Cartographics office.

just to make certain, just take a lap of the galaxy, that will get you Elite in exploration. There are plenty of player carriers out there to sell off your data, if you don’t mind losing about half the value credit wise.
