I'm heading towards the Ghost of Jupiter. It's not extremely far off, and there's plenty of undiscovered stuff over here.
How do I ascertain how much my data is worth?

you dont. Discovery data is not really effected by distance. Different stellar bodies are worth different amounts but there is no running tally of how much you have pending etc. Neutron star field farming is the most lucrative form of exploration, since you can't really Earth-like farm.

The Captain's Log third-party tool has some (quite old now, but still decent) financial estimates for all your findings, and the Canonn group has found an extremely precise algorithm for almost every type of body. But it's not really practical if you don't use it on a spreadsheet or something. Mass is part of the equation.
