If you're eating in the USA, it might be wise to consider that all food and restaurant inspections have stopped.

It might be prudent to temporarily avoid things like seafood, fresh meats, sushi, risky farm produce, raw foods, and material from previously suspect sources. Wash and cook your stuff scrupulously, and stay safe cmdrs o7.

What's this about?

I'm not planning on going to USA but still. Did they cancel their food inspections as a whole or something?

It's not like your local seafood joint that you previously trusted is suddenly going to use second rate sources or discard hygiene practices.

I already avoid suspect sources and suggest everyone else do the same!

Inspections only do so much:

USDA is part of the government and inspects food. The government is shut down, so no inspections.

Maybe I should try to sell some roadkill to the markets before they get back. ;)

<edit> But on a more serious note, the USDA also grades beef according to quality. I always buy USDA Prime, which is one level above what the restaurants serve. I wonder if some of my beef will disappear, since none of it can be classified as Prime? </edit>
