Powerplay Heard a rumor that a Grom ship was actually in Open!?!

That someone, somewhere, actually saw a Grom ship doing PP business, real PP business, in Open? Not hiding in their usual PG?
Can someone confirm? Hopefully with a screenshot? Gotta be quick though before they C-Log.
Having Grom do PP work in Open is like seeing a herd of Unicorns so this singular moment should be saved for posterity.

Saw a duval pledged clipper in that LTT system yesterday, but was being very well behaved due to the swarm of hudson/winters pledged corvettes, anacondas, kraits, pythons, and some loon in an AspX

This issue was already posted in Bug reports. If you filter by 'Rate of occurance = once' you should find it top of the list.

After urgent investigation, turns out it was a module shopper. Heyho.

Hey, maybe I started this rumor. I have seen three different Grom Commanders in LFT 78 two weeks ago, and I talked about it to another commander out there...

I guess this exorbitant observation might have been circulating since that point.

This is what happens when they miss the solo/pg button:

please note the ZH pledge and the T9. Guess we found the 5C.

This pilot is a member of EGP as per their Inara roster: https://imgur.com/eweNwuW

The pilot reporting this said that the ship disappeared as soon as he established communications.

So we finally have proof.

The EG Pilots do 5C.

Now I expect waht's left of the Imperial Command to scratch their alliance with Grom instead of giving Torval systems to them. Or they will be considered 5C supporters, it's obvious.

We should all prepare ourselves for the empire players to accept this, say it's fine and continue as if it didn't happen.

You forget the part where they portray them as misunderstood victims of Gromophobia, that have always lived up to any deals with them (in PG).

I thought it was sarcastic.

it was.

Honestly, if the "beauty" of modes is that you can hide the fact that you're cheating, no, I don't appreciate it.

there is some beauty in modes but it is just incompatible with simulating real world interactions and their consequences. eg. powerplay conflict.

5c or treachery in general in a conflict is not cheating, it's tactics. the problem here is not that one infiltrator was caught on camera, but the fact that he was because he accidentally or carelessly did it in open. using parallel dimensions to affect a shared world, that's what i could call cheating, and that's what modes enforce in a gameplay setting (like again, e.g., powerplay) that should specifically avoid it.

It's not cheating in a strict sense, but given that there are little counters to 5C activities, it is despised by most communities. I'd be favorable to authentic treachery mechanics but only if their effect is reversible in an easier way. With the current rules, once you eat a bad system, you keep it.

That's the main problem: 5C is most of all a consequence to some bad designed rules in Powerplay. And it's mostly impossible to counter. Which is worse.
