Heat damage - Heating enemy weapon system

I haved a battle between me and Diamond black Scout.
My attacks are based on his Beam laser.
He exploded on 64% hull.
Power plant intact.
Beam lasers are not completely destroyed.

I've been meaning to try this, to see if they just boil themselves.
You did this with a pulse/burst/beam, not the heating weapon from what ever power it is?

I did this with beam laser, two pair.
