heat dm from own weapons before they even overheat?

hi after the last paches i noticed my ships heat is reaching critical level when i youse my beam lasers even before they over heat , is this ment to be ?? i meen if i fire laser even not in combat,:S heat level of the ship raises to the sky.i would think firing lasers shuld only make lasers heat up, or am i wrong,

All weapons do heat damage to the ship now chap as of the 1.2 patch I think it was....sorry.

thx i yust dont understand why they made this ,space is a wery cold place cooling shuld not be a problem especially as hardpoint are outside ship ,overheating weapons shuld by my oppinion only affekt their performancelike before

I've had this, only when fighting near a star though, so my heat levels were already high to start with. Earlier versions didn't do this. It was very annoying. I hope they aren't turning ED into Battle Tech!
