Heat Issue.

I took on a mission to deliver some pesticides.

I locked on to my destination galaxy and entered hyperspace.
I was then brought out of hyperspace abruptly right in front of two suns in the destination galaxy and maneuvered away quickly, but apparently already suffered just a little heat damage - 2%.
I then checked my heat status and it was reading 89% so I continued heading away from the suns and was only able to get the heat down to 86%.
I am still heading away from the suns and the heat is not decreasing any and I cannot jump to a space station because the heat greatly increases beyond acceptable levels to operate the jump.

What else can I do?

Just activate frame shift drive, it'll tell you you're too hot, but it's that or being stuck there.

You need to reach some 120% heat until you feel damage, and some 150% until it starts to get really dangerous. You still have enough margin to get out of there without more damage.

Use heatsinks. Dump the heat, charge the supercruise and quickly get away.

Also, you can take quite a bit of heat damage before you blow up. Get away any way you can, dock and repair.

It doesnt seem like the jump drive will engage due to the increase heat. I will have to try it again - if it doesnt work then I will have to self destruct and start over.

How can I avoid this in the future? I wish you could enter a system near a planet or on the fringe of the system instead of entering right in front of a freaking sun!

That would be a first. It does say "temperature critical" and over things like that, but it doesn't prevent you from damaging your ship if you want to.

Also, could you maybe have some proximity bug, where you can't escape the sun and everytime you try to charge the FSD you stop? In this case, try jumping to another system, this is the failsafe to escape when stuck.
