Heat Resistant Ceramics. Previously useless, now needed.

Greetings Commanders,

Anyone manage to find Heat Resistant Ceramics anywhere?

It says they're available from salvage of transport ships, but I have never seen any. Prior to Beyond, they had no use so it wasn't a big deal, but now they are useful in some of the new experimental effects, most notably for Power Distributors.

If anyone has a line on the best place to farm these, I would appreciate it.

Or you go into a Convoy Emergency Signal in an Anarchy system with Outbreak (a lil more difficult to find than the Distribution center mentioned above IMHO).
There, i found 6 (2 x 3) Heatresistant Ceramics so far during my approx. hour-long stay - not that much.

Interesting, I'll give it a try.

The reason I ask is because I have salvaged Transport Ships in the past for other mats.. I have zero Heat Resistant Ceramics. The entire time I have played ED, I have never seen a single one.

Seems that if they were that common, I would have at least a couple, but maybe I have just been unlucky.

If they're listed as Common, perhaps I can find one at a Material Trader, are they available there?

Figured I would post an update in case anyone else has issues with this component.

Try as I might, I couldn't find it in drops anywhere.

The solution for me was to visit the Material Trader at Patterson Enterprise in Sirius (Permit System) who deals in Manufactured Components. They are 'cheap' commodities, so I was easily able to trade some more valuable components that I had an abundance of and stocked up on Heat Resistant Ceramics.

I don't deny anyone that says they found these in drops, I just know they don't seem to drop for me. This was one instance where the Material Trader certainly came in handy. Hopped over to Sirius and 2 min later I had all I needed. [big grin]

Do you remember how you collected it?
