Heatsink launchers are in DESPARATE need of a lot more ammo

Exactly what it says in the title. It's always been super annoying for me that the heatsink launcher has just 3 sinks, reminder that that takes up an entire utility mount, which is a pretty big issue with smaller ships.

I feel that it would be far more balanced if it had the same amount of ammo as the Chaff launcher, with 10 charges. So that a ship can carry 1 and have plenty of ammo, instead of needing multiple.

You can synthesise more, but it takes rather a long time. I keep having to take extended breaks from combat to make more heatsinks, seriously considering dropping a shield booster for another heatsink launcher.

I think the situation is pretty good right now. I've only ever needed a boatload of heat sinks when fighting Thargoids, and between the Sirius launchers and zones at stations where I can land to re-arm in the middle of fight it has become much easier. Sure in harder conditions I still have to make more, but it's not so much of a nuisance as it was. For most of my AX builds, 2 Sirius launchers with their respectable 10 heat sinks is enough.

Sirius megaships. There's one in Leesti.
OK, I've unlocked the pre-engineered heat sink launcher on the Sirius megaship Kumiho Sky in Andecavi. However, it only offers 4 heatsinks, not 5. (Its ammo shows as 1/3). Is there a better one anywhere, or have I been sent on a wild goose chase? OK, I'm just off to get my Anaconda at Hutton Orbital next.

You need to reload them after installing.

The Issue is they were never designed for AX warfare, only for dumping heat after a rough fuel scoop or to offset heat with SCBs.

Yeah you can see a clear argument why Heat Sink Launchers only have a small max ammo load, they require a certain amount of mass to store the heat otherwise they just melt, whereas chaff, well that's just bits of silver paper right (or whatever substitute they use in ED universe) and can hold a lot of ammo, what I could see as useful is a smaller heatsink launcher designed for combat, it holds more ammo, but because the heatsinks are smaller it doesn't get rid of as much heat as the larger one.

Honestly, they need a new type of Heat sink launcher. Instead of firing off one hockey puck at a time that removes a preset amount of heat, they need a liquid ejector that has a large reservoir. As the player holds the button it continuously spews hyper conductive liquid metal that cools the ship off. For balance purposes it would be on the opposite end of the spectrum from the existing heat sink, meaning, it cools slower but last longer. Meant less for keeping you below 20% heat and more for keeping you from cooking yourself all the time. maybe even auto activating when about 100% heat.

You can already fire multiple heatsinks at the same time, even fire them continuously if you put them in a fire group with your regular weapons.
