Engineers Heavy Mamba war bird

Wow why those crappy resis? 16 minutes to reload....gonna be a short fun and looong wait even at starport. Sorry to say that but.....this doesn't look very good.
But each his own......

Beta Coriolis is working now...

What about a Mamba for PvP? Capable of fighting 1 vs 1 with a classic FDL with 3 plasmas and 2 rails? Long range or all frags?

Heavy Mamba Loadout

Speed : 480/592
Shield : 1,938
Hull : 1,431

Armor Reactive surface with Thermal resistance.
Prismatic Shield with Thermal resistance.

Could be a monstruous war bird.

I once used prismatics like you, then I took impatience to the knee... :D

Prismatics are a lie!! yeah they are good for withstanding initial hard and heavy attacks. but their regen/ recovery rate is beyond sad.

I was using a prismatic on my corvette for almost a year, thinking it was the grandest thing ever to have a massive shield that no NPC could destroy, until I started to realise in CZ that the rings almost appeared to never regen, I then broke my shields after living dangerously and found they had an enormous 13 Minute regen...yes, MINUTES

I then experimented with Bi-weaves, shields that I have always skipped until now under the "oh it's C grade, it must be trash" mentality, I was deceived. with a G5 upgrade and rapid regen effect these shields have never been breached past the second ring, I have only used 1 SCB in the entire time of using the ship.

I now use Bi-weaves on all my ships where possible. they are surprisingly effective if you put the engineer time into it! and in regards to your mamba, they weigh half as much as prismatics, so you may find a slight speed increase too! ;)

Or repair and reboot in the field, regain your shield up to 50% in about half a minute.

Alternate setup w/ bi-weave shields and some resistance augment boosters: https://beta.coriolis.io/outfit/mam...1Q87AQMAAA==.EweloBhAOEoUwIYHMA28QgIwV3fEQA==
Thank you for the alternative build ;-)

For smaller ship, i agree Bi-Weave shields are the best.

For Heavy battle cruiser like Anaconda, Cutter, Corvette i disagree.

here is my Anaconda build Shield 3,177 (~50% resistance in all), Hull 6,797 (>~50% resistance in all).

If my shield get down, my hull is more than twice stronger and it almost never go down. I can reboot my shield up to 50% strength if i'm not under attack.

In addition the one with resistance shield build (no shield tank) are weak against absolute damage weapons like Plasma Accelerator.

With my Anaconda build i'm good against everything.

As concerned to Mamba i do agree that it should be preferable to have a Bi-weave resistance shield loadout as it is a medium ship.
Small/Medium shield doesn't provide good shield tank build.
