New pilot here. Just started a few nights ago on Xbox. My god things are confusing lol. I love the game though.

Question 1 - anyone around who might not mind joining me one night so I can ask a few questions? If so my gamertag is Jocher.

Question 2 - I now have about 1.2 mil credits. Stuck in the initial area Dromi. I’m scared to venture too far away because I might run out of fuel. Anyone know if there’s a safe place I can hyperspace to that has a normal space port where I might be able to buy a new stronger ship? I’ve been fighting lots of those missions where you have to destroy enemy ships. My ship just seems weak. It takes like 10 mins to destroy a bounty ship and most of the time they hyperspace away so I don’t even get to finish the job. So wanting to upgrade my ship so it’s weapons are stronger. But having a nervous fit that if I leave the initial area I won’t find another port to refuel and or buy a new ship. Thanks gents.

Hi CMDR Jocher,

Q1: I suspect not many CMDRs are left on Xbox as that is now in Legacy mode, not the Live version of the game.

Q2: This will depend on a few factors prior to leaving the starter area. Are you on Reddit, if yes, username we can chat easier.

Refuel is your top priority right now. Read up on fuel scoop usage, then get one on your ship asap. Once you have one, and you know how to use it, you can go anywhere your jump range can reach. No more worrying :)

post up your timezone and usual play time.

there are still a few of us left on XBox. there are a several systems with high(ish) player traffic and a few Squadrons are still helping new XBox players.

I suspect you don't play on Xbox, population is very healthy and it is a live version of the game, live across PC, Xbox and PS, it is the legacy version as opposed to Odyssey expansion, the expansion is seperated from Legacy BGS, so you are wrong on Q1.

As for Q2, Reddit has become a mess, discord is where the community resides.

Thanks for the tips gents. I usually play around 9PM EST. Trying to wrap up Banjo Tooie and Bad North and then I’m on ED full time. Gamertag is “Jocher” if anyone wants to pilot up with me.

Welcome, Commander!

A good piece of advice I can give you is to look in the codex (right hand panel, first tab) and there you'll find Pilots Manual. There are a ton of useful info on there!
