Newcomer / Intro Hello Eliters!

Hi,

I'm a 37 (one month more, so very important not to call me older ;) ) year old player from Antwerp, Flanders (northern part of Belgium).
Over the years I read a lot about the original games and was curious to discover the Elite-galaxy for myself, but I didn't want to try out some emulated version. This new edition gave me the stimulus to finally try it out.
And I must say I'm impressed. It's got me hooked over the last couple of nights. True, I'm still in my starter-ship, but that's probably because I keep on stepping in the trap to try out too much, too soon. Anywho, if you see CMDR Weekat Matiren bobbing her ship against a wall - and usually blowing it up - while attempting a full speed exit out of one of the larger stations, that's me. :)

See you in game.

I'll be sure to mount window-wipers on my Asp so that when you inevitably crash into me on exit, your residue won't impair my view :D

...and welcome :)

Yeah welcome to the Elite universe, Maybe you should try out the tourials especially the 1 mission so you don't scrats my lovely customised Paintjob on my Viper (A Danish flag ) :D

Anyway good luck out there and try to fly safe... ;)

Welcome to the Elite galaxy. I'm a little older than you and have never played the earlier games, but ED hooked me immediately. Enjoy flying and don't get hooked into the "must grind... More credits... Bigger ship..." mentality and you'll keep enjoying it for years.

Hello and welcome.

If you are ever unsure about anything in the game feel free to ask here in the newcomers forum.

Fly safe commander.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. And I also have to apologize for not posting this thread in the Introductions forum. But since I don't have any edit/delete functions yet, it kind of got stuck here. :p

Haha thankfully there are no speed limits inside space stations! Eventually you'll be able to navigate through stations safely. Then you should try high speed entrances... I think they're more difficult

Welcome!, I am in my forties as well.

I'm happy to answer any questions, if you send some of that wonderful red ale you have in Belgium. :)

Welcome to Elite Andromedium... I bought the game around the first of the year and absolutely love it. Hope you find your long journeys to your liking
