Hello, is the African Leopard in the Game?

In Zoo Tycoon I remember it not making the cut, possibly due to the fact that other 'spotted' cats (such as the Jaguar and Cheetah) looked quite similar. I saw that Snow Leopards are in the game (they are quite distinctive to be fair) but did we have any word of their more popular, African counterparts?

No, not yet.

But since it's confirmed that some of the big cats are good climber, I have high hopes for Leopards.

I have high hopes for the African Leopard.. as well as the Jaguar. They're beautiful & have awesome calls.. :3

Also, whilst watching Serengeti (show series), I realized that Lions can climb trees (not well) but they can so I hope they are able to do this in game as well.
Leopards, Cheetahs & Jaguars will be awesome. xD

A black panther is not an individual species. It’s a melanistic gene, which changes the pigment of the animals coat.
These coats are commonly found in leopards and jaguars

With that being said, I really hope we do get African Leopards and Jaguars

Sorry if you already knew this, it’s hard to tell sometimes xD but I agree a melanistic coats would be neat.

What Aero said ^^ A black panther is not an actual animal species but a color abnormality (Melanism), most commonly found in Leopards & Jaguars.

However, I do want all of these abnormal coat colors in-game! They would be fun.. Some rare or more common than others and some only through in-breeding.

Why the African? Melanistic specimens of the African subspecies are really rare and it's almost inexistent in western zoos, the Javan subspecies seems to fit much more on what the community is wanting.

Ahah no worries. I didn’t want you to think I was trying to make it seem like you didn’t know, I wasn’t sure, since some people are still under the assumption it is a different animal. And very true! Everyone should always be open to useful information!
Leopards are beautiful cats, I hope we do get african and maybe even Amur leopards later

For me, i want it because i'd like to be able to make a full on "Safari" zoo and wouldn't be complete without the African Leopard or Jaguar, not just for colorations, rare or not.

Cool to see you guys like the Idea. I'm hoping that of ALL of the 4 Main Big Cats are in the game:

1. Tiger
2. Lion
3. Jaguar
4. Leopard

I am calling them the main ones not only based on their size, but also on the fact that only these four can actually roar!
