IIRC, mere moderators do not have the privileges to do that. You probably need to find an admin to grovel to.
You're probably better of asking for this in the Frontier Support and Suggestions forum.
And large images break the layout (so easily fixed) and the forum style isn't the least bit responsive (would take a bit more work but come on). (I'd love to see a good piece of forum software properly integrated in to the main Elite website theme.)
Obviously they really only care to have a basic forum and care little for other fluff, the Support and Suggestions forum is still the best that would be the correct place for this request though

I'll second the motion for what its worth.. although for the most part I find it sufficient for my forum readin to simply see the post dates in the uppre left.
