Help. A Community goal question

Hello Cmdrs,

I made my way to the Volungu system to help in the defense of Volungu. I am supposed to return combat bonds to help in the Community goal. How do I get the combat bonds? I accepted the community mission, went to the conflict zone and drove back Imperial Scum for about 2 hours. Went back to the station and had no bonds to cash in. What am I missing?

Did you join the Federation faction when you got to the conflict zone? (its Volungu Public something or other)if not, its on your right hand screen (status screen) tab over to functions, the very first option should say Factions, click on it and select the Faction you wish to fight for.

Thanks. That's what I was missing I guess. I will have to go check it out. I did accept the mission at the station but did not pick a faction

Yea thats the only way to get the bonds, btw in conflict zones be very careful not to accidentally shoot your factions own ships, they will turn on you and probably kill you before you can get away. Also I'd suggest the low conflict zone in Volungu, there is a Federation capital ship at the high intensity zone and it will steal your kills (aka combat vouchers) this can be very frustrating, unless you have a ship with large hardpoints which generally have a decent chance to get the last hit before the capital ship does. (if you haven't seen the capital ship yet, I'd really suggest jumping into the high intensity conflict zone and taking a peek! (just dont get to close, they ll even shoot allies if they think your acting suspicious) then jump over to the low intensity conflict zone to farm your bonds.

I'm flying a pimped out Vulture. I do fine in the conflict zones. I am always careful not to hit my allies. I hate having to kill everyone in an area . I was in the conflict zone for 2 hours killing the empire. I did good. Just didn't know about actually having to pick a side. Thanks for the info.

Edit: When I play tomorrow I will check out the capital ship.

Where you in the High Intensity Zone near the Capital ship?

I was just there in a pimped out Python and had selected the Fed side - but I found the Capital ship was stealing most of my kills - I only managed to kill one Eagle before I gave up . . .
