Help/advice: Loaded into a Neutron star wave "thing" -- guaranteed death?

Unfortunately when I load into the game I find myself smack back in the middle of a Neutron Star wave thing facing right into the neutron star -- in normal flight mode -- and have absolutely no idea how to get out of it alive -- or, if that is even possible.

I panicked straight away and after faffing around for what seemed like an eternity trying to get the FSD engaged watching all my systems go mental, with death seemingly an inevitability at that point I just pulled the plug in the hope that perhaps some online research might provide me with a strategy for a second attempt at survival.

From my limited experience rattling around in this thing it seems engaging FSD is pretty much out of the question while inside this thing due to systems going offline every few seconds and no chance to align with trajectory, and under normal propulsion there seems no chance to escape the cone of death so I'm pretty sure short of a miracle (ie. loading back into the game and finding my position in space no longer lands me smack back in the middle of this thing) that my goose is cooked.

Before I venture back into the game and accept the cold embrace of death and kiss goodbye to countless hours of exploration data I figured I'd check the forums out to see if anyone knows of are any other options open to me.

Is there a way out of this, or is it just a case of accepting the fate handed to me by this very unfortunate positioning?

There was a thread here a few days ago with advice on how to get out of that situation.

Destruction is possibly available but your odds are not great.
On the other hand, if you logged off under 2.1 and logging in under 2.2 put you here, perhaps support can help you get out or restore your loss.

I did find this bug report, https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...can-lead-to-the-play-spawning-within-the-jets and am pinning my hopes on the slim chance that support will offer an escape route. Otherwise I'll give that approach a go, if it comes to that I suspect I'm already screwed from the damage I have already incurred though to be honest -- as it was quite a surprise to find myself in that position I fear I wasted too much time before I logged off and my ship is probably already a write-off next time I log in.

Yeah how did you get in there in the first place?
Did you find yourself in the cone after jumping to the Neutron?
Or were you trying to get a super jump boost?

If you logged in to it to me that's and I'd file a ticket

Hoping for the best for you.

Same thing happened to me, except I crashed in a boosted witchspace jump and was reverted back to the jet, but in normal space (just... why?). I filed a ticket in hopes they'll move me out of there, but I'm half tempted to try escaping like the post you shared. I'm apprehensive about doing that with my 37% hull, 75% FSD, though.

Send them a ticket, they are able to move your ship.

Game really should spawn us away from jets just like it spawns us away from planets/stars. I kinda saw this bug coming to be honest.

I had a few encounters with the jets in normal flight, I was able to boost out into super cruise once or twice and another time could not get aligned with my trajectory to make it. I had the jet overtake me once when checking out a ship wreck. I was in a fighter at the time but managed to get out as the buffeting was not so bad at first.
Death by neutron jet is slow.
