Horizons Help Beluga Liner player

Hi,

I request help for beluga Liner player, i actually use this config for the beluga: https://eddp.co/u/5osdcRDH.
The problem of this explorer ship is his locked internal. You can see I use this ship for exploration and if i want to got the fighter with shield, I actually need to use a class 4 fuel scoop and wait on a star like 10 minutes too make the refuel, is very annoying :-/.
So I ask if you can open a class 6 internal. If you lock internal for windows for the fps, I don't understand where the internal can be set because the windows on the roof can fix 1 internal I think.

Thanks for the help.

I'm no expert, but this doesn't really look like an explorer ship. You've almost got more guns on that than I have on my Python, 128T of normal cargo space, and a fighter hangar. :p It's not optimal for fighting, trading or exploring.

If you are playings PvE as an explorer, my suggestion would be something like this.

If you want to explore you'd be better with an asp or a conda. If you really want to stick with the Beluga then you don't need the heavy power plant, all those weapons and a fighter hanger. Minimal shields are necessary and what cargo are you carrying in those racks?

The build Ben recommended is pretty good for the ship but seriously - there are better ships for exploring dude! Beluga's belong in the sea - not in space!

I have a Beluga. I stripped it of weapons, just kept the SLF. Weapons leave you tempted to fight if intercepted, and instead you should be running, even while the SLF buys you time if necessary !

Have you considered engineering its FSD to improve its jump range? Grade 5 at Felicity Farseer would boost your FSD jump range by 50%.

Unfortunately the Beluga has been badly designed for exploration purposes - the option to use a Class 6 slot for either passengers or a decent fuel scoop is a pain, and it was vastly overweight until they reduced it a little. They added a huge tank to give it further range between fuel stops, but you can reduce it to 64 tons instead of 128 without suffering.

Chaff launchers and point defence will also improve your defensive posture.

By the way, have you ever considered the Orca? That is a great ship to fly for passengers or cargo and to explore with, especially if you engineer the FSD.

I went on a long trip in a Beluga with a 4A fuel scoop. Its not too bad as you scoop while travelling anyway and the Beluga can make a lot of jumps before you need to stop.

Its quite viable. Just means every 30 mins or so you take a few mins break while scooping. Its not bad.

Actually I set weapon for more RP because for example the USS Enterprise is a exploration ship and he got weapon on him, my weapon are lightweight grade 5, is not the problem of the weight or the FSD Range.

I don't set the enginners modif on the config because it take lot of enginners modif ^^' but the beluga come with the guardians update, I don't understand why he can't fit a fighter hangar with fuel scoop :-/

Yes, couple of good points you have made here. Fitting the weapons for role play is understandable, but unfortunately you won't do more than scratch the paint without a full-blown implementation on weapons, so I believe it is all or nothing in the Beluga. Indigo-Wyrd has posted a good video of using a Beluga in combat, so worth taking a look.

The choice of decent fuel scoop or SLF is a very bad design decision, heavily criticized when we discovered it. I don't think the reasoning behind having some of the dedicated cabin or cargo slots will become clear until we are able to walk about our ships.

In my opinion, if you abandon the SLF, you may as well go for the Orca and have a more pleasant flying experience - just my opinion. I have both and use the Orca most.

Edit - look at post #16 in this thread .... in fact the whole thread is relevant :) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-of-DPS-ships-out-there-(A-bit-of-statistics)
