Newcomer / Intro HELP ........ Cant get Game to Run

Sorry to start off my Intro
to ED with a problem but I cant get the game to Run. I get the Instructor is going to show me the controls and he asks me to Auto Launch which I click on and nothing happens.
I have trike this many ways but the game just doesn't launch my ship What am I doing wrong?

What is your control setup - and which platform are you on?
If you are on PC with mouse and keyboard, you move the cursor with the keyboard (WASD I think) and select the highlighted item through the space-bar.

Yes, I think it's the spacebar to select that may be the cause - unless, of course, you remapped it in your options. Then again, if you're not a PC user, then this is irrelevent.

The autolaunch is only availlable if you have an advanced docking computer fitted - did you sell it? If you are using a standard docking computer or, indeed, no docking computer, you will need to launch manually (the "button" will say just "Launch" instead of "Auto Launch"). To launch manually, you will need to engage your thrusters - up, down, left, right, forward back - and whatever keys you mapped yaw, pitch and roll to.

The thrusters are a seperate set of controls to accelerate and decelerate - once I'd figured that out, flying was a bit easier :D Also, once "airborn" (or is that "spaceborn"?), retract your landing gear.

Also, you can check your right-hand panel -> ship section to see if you disabled the autolaunch option.

You are expecting a clickable cockpit - just like I did way back in the mysts of tyme... Your mouse doesn't work outside maps, menus and starport services - you interact using UI keys / buttons. They are listed on page 37 of the manual (link to which is on your launcher).

Thank you all for the replies I see I gave you only 1/2 the Info. I am sorry for that glaring mistake I'am running a PC and my control is a Saitec X52 with Rudder Peddles
Your right Para Handy my mouse disappeared and I cant seem to highlight anything.

Have you tried WASD (QE) for moving the highlighter yet? If that doesn't work, hop over to https://edrefcard.info/ and have it generate your personal reference card. I use a different control setup, so I've no idea which controls are mapped where as default for the X52.

Yes, of course you could also "just" jump into the games' "Options" menu and check out your bindings there - but as long as you can't move the cursor, this will be an interesting excercise 😁.

I'm flying I don't know where I am but I can go forward and back with the Throttle how do I look around the cockpit and highlight an item Better yet how do I get back to the Tutorial to learn these things so I don't keep bothering you people. Also should I be in ED or ED/Dangerous I have both.

I told you how in my post above (#4) ...

is this thing on.gif

Esc or P key takes you to the menu (NB THE GAME IS NOT PAUSED)

It is Elite Dangerous (the base game) or Elite Dangerous Horizons - use either, the difference is in having access to the Horizons features - the galaxy is the same.

Maybe you would benefit from looking at the manual for a start.
