Help, can't leave planet, can't leave game

I was surface mining for Arsenic on a 5.5G planet.
SRV tumbled down a crater and self destructed.
I got picked up by my ship hovering above the planet surface.

I can't engage FSD to leave the planet. Both low and high wake sit on "charging" forever but never engage.
High wake overheats after a while, low does not.
Stranger, the ESC key no longer works, so I can't even exit the game normally.

No mass lock, no gear, no hard points, all modules 99-100%. I shut down a few to get 65% power usage on ASP Explorer.

Ideas?

Crash out (ctrl alt delete) then load up the base game in solo or any other mode.

That'll place you above the planet.

Then swap back and play on.

Load up the game in non-Horizons mode.

That will place you above the planet in your ship.

Thanks guys, it's all okay now.
I restarted the PC and game, and everything works now.
I was most concerned about losing my 3 Arsenic since I spent 2hrs mining to find some and hadn't docked or landed since.
It was still in my inventory, so the game must save more frequently than I expected.

Or just kill the game and restart. Once Esc stops working not much point in expecting sanity

You don't lose materials when your ship blows up anyway. You lose exploration data and codex/intellidata vouchers.

About Arsenic, why don't you just look for it on planets with geological/biological sites? It's much faster to find some!

Good I don't lose materials, but exiting the game without saving was a concern.

I will need to learn more about geological and biological sites. I've started playing this game only two weeks ago and began trying the SRV two days ago to get resources for first engineer. It's all very new to me. A whole new language actually.

You don't 'Save'. The game automatically updates your progress on the server as you do things.

'Save and exit' is a misnomer really. All it does is a clean disconnect.

Reminds me of the 2x I got myself hopelessly stuck at the crashed Anaconda at Orrere. Forum here was my savior. Now I only farm raws at Koli Disci.

You are lining up with the escape vector (90 degrees up)?
