HELP - dont know what just happened

He did it by first being all negative (pleasing all the haters) and then being all positive (pleasing all the fanboys). He is just to clever for this forum ;)

Sorry for off topic!

You have got two, 2 pips. I've only got one, 1 green pip.

What are the pip benefits?

I want more pips.

I have 72 rep points how many have you got!

I had some trouble once when I jumped into a system with 2 stars close by, one of them just out of view. When I saw the heat shooting up, I tried turning around to get away from the star I was scooping, but the heat kept going up to about 200% before cooling down again. Maybe this is what happened in your case OP?

Is this possible.

1. Scooping pointing at star. Finish scooping in SC 30m/s and idle still pointing at star but still moving
2. Into nav, eyes off screen and target USS
3. Time flies as you concentrate on USS
4. You go back to main view, too late, you have fallen too far
5. No amount of SC or throttle will get you out as the heat is building quicker than you can escape.
6. Heat sinks don't work in SC.

As said, you probably should have exited SC and then let heat settle and heat sinked / boosted out.

Is this possibly what happened ? Other than that I have no clue why.

OP. Are you using voice attack? I've found that, with my current setup, if I sniff really loudly (I've got a cold ATM) I activate silent running. :(

Well I have had nothing like it since I restarted - I think it was either a glitch or some weird thing whereby the prototype tech screwed your ship up.

It was not a binary star system - and I never fly in nav I use it to lock target and switch back to main view (I am a woman and know driving is a problem for my sex so do it carefully).

If I do get something similar I will try dropping out of SC but to be honest I really hope it does not because it did not make any sense.
