Help for Sector LP 98-132

it would sadden me to see LP 98-132 changed. I want it to remain the hellhole i so loved in Beta, if that changed, all hope is lost.
If it remains what it is now, there's no hope at all.

Freeport got approx 10 cmdrs/hr in traffic every day...that's nothing compared to the beta days.
The only danger in the system is during SC, but the NPC's that try to interdict me, are mostly harmless Sidewinders and Adders.
NPC Vultures seem to avoid the place alltogether...still have to encounter one.

I tried to focus on protecting the Styx miners in the RES near Anahit, but they are hardly in danger....the system is dead quiet, most of the times lol.
So I hunt a few non-Styx NPC's.

But today, I notice a slight increase in traffic...around 12 cmdrs/hr.
We can try to revive LP 98-132, do we want it to become that hellhole again, or a system that got taken over by a different cmdr initiative?
If we take control, we can make it what we want it to be.
Can't say I want a 2nd Lave scenario, though. :p

While I can't say I know what happened with Lave, Vultures do appear on occasion in the unidentified signal sources.

As do Fer De Lances and the occasional four anacondas camping an item.

So far, me and the people who've banded together to deal with the pirate threat are planning to get the Styx Progressive into power in the region to get LP 98-132 into the Federation. While I don't particularly know how to improve the economy, I'm almost certain someone else can help out with that.

Hmm I thought LP 98-132 did change to Federation some time ago. Has it changed back again o_O

It's in Anarchy right now. So I'd assume yes, it has.

Either way, once we've kicked the brotherhood out of the sector, it's off to their sector to ruin them.

Good job, everyone! Freeport is now successfully under Federation control, with Styx Progressive's influence at 16%! Keep it up, for a brighter tomorrow.

Yesterday evening, I was hunting for Styx at LP 98-132 nav beacon (in a Sidewinder, because it's fun!), and a Cobra cmdr entered the scene.

I retracted my weapons, and flew towards him to check him out...didn't use a KWS, btw.
As I boost-strafed past him, he immeadiatly attacked me, and my shields took a heavy beating.
With 4 pips to engines, I kept boosting away from him, but he still got my shields down, and my hull to 89% (could have been worse, but I use mirrored surface composite armour, and a hull reinforcement package).
I managed to keep him at distance, and finally could jump into SC.

As it happens, I also have a nasty Viper parked at Freeport, so I quickly switched my Sidey for my favourite dogfighter, and went back to the nav beacon.
Cobra cmdr was still there, fighting some npc Styx targets, and he only noticed me when I got his shields down in seconds.
Started targetting his powerplant, he tried to attack me once, but my superior boost-acceleration quickly got me back on his six.
And so in the end, HE was the one to run away, with 50% hull left.

I followed him into SC, but he dropped out at a random spot, and I left him...no need to kill him, I hope this fair warning was enough to make him a bit more carefull in this system!

Right now, the people currently responsible for handling the 98-312 issue are on temporary leave to improve their equipment and ships, myself included. Once everything is dealt with, we'll be hitting again full force.

Yes, please eave free port alone. It's a place of historical significance and they are just having boyish fun...I even heard form the locals they like it that way
