Help, half of my buildings and paths. are destroyed and it annoys me ?

A few months ago I launched the game (Basel Zoo) and I saw a building that no longer had a roof (Vivarium and Aquarium) So I redid the roof. A few weeks later I started a zoo again (Servion Zoo and the Tropquarium) And there again I see a destroyed building. And there again I had a building destroyed but that was the parking lot...

I checked all the files and updates and game settings, nothing to do.

I don't use the bulldozer

Does anyone have the same problem:

Are these old zoos? Ive heard that files that have been around for a long time can get kinda messed up over time

I've heard of this a couple of times from reddit where usually buildings with staff buildings or exhibits inside would get messed up. The only thing I can think of is an old zoo file where lots of different updates have interfered with the building, the solution is to rebuild your destroyed buildings as I happens or even just start a new save file, as annoying as it is.

One other possibility is that some of your construction pieces were in building groups with other pieces of foliage. Sometimes I have deleted a tree somewhere and it has knocked the roof off of a building on the other side of the map, bc I didn't realise they were added to the same group.

Doesn't explain the paths though, that's strange. If you go to 'My Zoos' on the starting menu you might have older saves of the game that help you recover your builds. Sorry if not though, that's a shame.

Were they sandbox or franchise zoos?

It's very kind of you to answer me. Rebuild your destroyed buildings as you go, that's what I did. I hadn't thought about starting a new save file. So I will for the next few days and if it works and see thank you very much.

Older game saves that will help you recover your builds. Not stupid. I play in the sandbox and thank you very much

Ah okay, I only asked bc Sandbox autosaves files while Franchise only saves over the same file.

Yeah building groups are fiddly, and a bit of a nuisance. I'm always trying to remember to check whether I am adding to an existing group or want to start a new group, but I still often forget. I have definitely caused myself a lot of pain this way! When you click on something you've placed, check if other things light up and if so, you can double click to edit only that piece, or use the split from group button to unlink it if you want to.

Best of luck!
