Newcomer / Intro HELP!....How do I invite someone to a wing? Comms Panel offers no Options

I can see them, we are nose to nose with each other....but I go to comms, highlight their name, press space, and.......nothing...........is there a work around?

When you go into comms try pressing Esc then move right to the next tab. Select the user you want to invite and invite to wing.

I'm not sure if this is how it works if they are not already listed as a friend. I've only joined a wing with friends.
