I'm back after a few months off. Thought I'd give The War a try and help humanity, although I'm not a big fan of humans. Anyway.
I went to a system in recovery, picked-up a ground mission. Something about turning the power ON. I see a threat level of 3.
Probably the base could attract scavengers or pirates looking for easy loot, I assumed.
Or maybe it hint at a possible (future?) presence of ground Thargoïds left behind for ambushes.
We will see...
Fly to the base, take a look from above. Seems desert. I intercept some coms about a pilot (NPC) who is performing rescues in the area. Good narrative.
I land nearby, while for some reasons the rescue pilot shoots repair limpets at my ship (and miss avery single time). "Well, wierd but whatever. My hull is 98% repair it if you wish", I then unload the SRV and drive to the power station. On the way I intercept coms from an AX (NPC) patrol that look for threats. "Friends", I thought. "If some scavengers are hiding, I won't be alone".
I proceed then to power on the mess.
My SRV get attacked, and quickly destroyed. Fair enough, let's see who is shooting.
I walk by the main entrance and see some AX soldiers. "Fine, they guard the entrance".
While I go past them I receive a message that my ship is under attack, then destroyed. Ouch.
And right after the patrol notice me, they scream "Here he is! Shoot !"
what.
We are on the same side budies.
I hadn't my gun drawed, my shield was down, I didn't stole anything and anyway they didn't even scanned me.
I may not be Miss Universe but do i look like a Thargoïd to you FDEV??
I escaped in the end after a gun fight, calling an APEX.
Can't make any sense of that. It wasn't tagged as an illegal mission. It wasn't said that or why I should avoid AX Patrols.
I like some congruence to the game I play. Is it a bug I should report or am I missing something?
