It's a starting shield for newbs. Big sharks can't go in the starter systems to avoid seal clubbing. And once you leave the safe haven, you can't go back. Watch your back out there now, Commander.

PS: yes that means that delivery mission will fail - you can abandon it now.

That needs some qualification. When you do the starter mission, you can indeed leave the starter zone and land at a station and refuel there too before going back into the newb zone and completing the mission. I've done it several times. Every time I start, I go straight to Chambo to scan the system there on the way to Dromi to deliver the first mission. I'm not sure what the factor is that prevents you going back. I heard that it's if you've been promoted in any rank.

I was referring to the fact that there's a bunch of things I was still planning on doing inside the noob zone before venturing out. My priority for the moment is learning how to do different stuff(delivery missions, mining, bounty hunting, exploration) on a beginner level before going deeper into space. Figuring stuff out is half the fun for me at the moment.

There's nothing to stop you starting again. I'd stay at Dromi and help the police kill bad guys in the high resource extraction site until I had about 20 mil to get a DBX, T6 or Vulture depending on whether you want to do exploration hauling/mining, or combat. You get about 4 million per hour in the high RES, so it doesn't take long to get the 20 mil.
