Help, I can't scan a planet ring!

So, I'm currently on COL 285 SECTOR GU-L B22-6, this system has a planet with a ring that has an inner radius of around 5ls (1703854Km to be precise), but when I try to scan the thing I got an "out of range" and I can't fire the DSS. Any clue on how to scan this ring?

BTW, I already reported the thing as a bug just in case.

WARNING!: BE CAREFUL WHEN APROACHING THIS RING! Because it's so far away from it's planet, the game considers that there is no gravity affecting your FSD, it's possible to along this thing at full speed or even crash into it at full speed.

Some rings you can't scan. Always been that way. I wouldn't worry.

That's what I refer to as a mega ring, only been able to scan one 3rd ring that I've come across.

Sometimes it's possible to scan these large rings by placing yourself between the planet and the ring, you can get close enough to the ring to scan them, but if they are to far away you simply can't. Try positioning yourself above the ring plane and move away from the planet slowly until the DSS says out of range, then move in towards the planet until you are just in range then try the ring scan.
