Help! I did something dumb.

Fellow pilots,

I write this with my head hung in shame. I was flying my Vulture to a system to do a mission. I realized I had not upgraded my FSD and decided to do so when I docked. I docked and bought the biggest one I could find. The problem is, I bought a 3 instead of a 4. I realized my mistake after I left the station and couldn't jump to any other system. Now, my old one is gone, and the only station in the system that offers outfitting doesn't have an FSD big enough to get my ship out.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Buy a fuel scoop so you can jump back, make take longer but you will get there.

Edit: Uh learn2read on my part, sorry missed the part where you can't jump to any other system. Curious what is your jump range now? Do as the others have mentioned...

Sell the parts, then sell the ship. You can buy it again in another high tech system. Personal experience with my first viper :D

This is your only hope. Make sure you sell and downgrade all your parts first like he said, so you don't get hit with the 10% penalty on modules when you sell the hull. Buy something smaller and get to a high tech system.

1st, stripe your ship of all the non necessary modules (cargo, laser, shield etc...)
Then, buy the lightest modules available in the station.
Cross your finger and check the galaxy to find the nearest high tech station and if you are able to reach it.
