Help I lost everything, how not to.

Just a joke I have not lost anything.
Why you ask, pay attention and please stop posting these threads.

1: Make sure you have enough money to rebuy your ship if something happens.
2: Double check if you have enough money to rebuy your ship.
3: Don't buy a new ship with the money from selling your old one, if you upgrade from the sidewinder to the eagle just keep both, from eagle to viper keep both, that way if you didn't follow rules 1 and 2 you always have a full upgraded (right ?) backup. If your other ships are in another station just buy a sidewinder and taxi yourself to your other ship and don't risk flying your expensive ship.
4: If you can not afford to rebuy your ship take one of you other ships that you can afford and get the money to fly the better ship.

Hope this helps people !!!

Nice post, but I think the people who will still lose therir ships due to spending all their cash don't read the forums much.

Hope it helps too OP. Unfortunately people like to moan and feel that similar no insurance experiences should be shared as if we all give a hoot. Speaking for myself, I don't give a hoot. IMO similar posters should keep their whines to themselves and stop clogging up the forums with attention seeking drivel about how stupid they were by blaming ED for their woes.

Anyhoo, you make some good points OP and will have to start employing some of them. At the moment I like to live dangerously, and I have flown expensive assets without insurance. It's my choice and, if everything did go pop, I wouldn't advertise my stupidity here.

In fairness, if you don't like seeing these posts, then stop reading them. They are usually easy to spot from the thread title.
Besides, they have every right to vent about making a silly error on the forum as any of us do. That's part of what forums are here. Welcome to Teh Interwebz. :)

We all make silly mistakes now and then, and they are often the best way to drive home the error so we don't make it then.

I have myself been foolish enough to risk flying without the insurance because I was desperate for those few extra credits on the trade run. Fortunately for me, I survived that foolishness, but for each one of us that does, there will be many more that didn't!

On the one hand, yes they can vent about a silly error - no problem with that, on the other hand many of these threads usually come with "plz change game mechanics I'm too greedy/dumb/brain-afk to keep insurance money" thus blaming the game for their actions.

I believe they should be allowed to vent, they shouldn't suffix their post with some arbitrary request for a change to the game.
