Help! I see angels! (I have a serious question, so help is needed)

Hello Explorers (from a non-explorer dabbler).

I have been tracing out the constellation of Aquarius (because I am Aquarian, and 3303 is slap bang in the Age of Aquarius. No singing, please).

I was out driving on one of the stops along the way (Hydor - Lamba Aquarii) and saw a lovely red nebulae - with an angel in it. Anyone know where it is and what it is called (I have seen a red one a lot, but never before with an angel in it, so maybe they are two together)? Even better, co-ordinates or system by it for a close view would be welcomed thanks mightily.

I am sure there is way to triangulate etc and work it out, but thought I would ask you lot instead as reckon you know what it is off the top of your head and could enlighten me.

Many thanks; and if anyone knows, please do tell!

PS I did toy with posting a "God loves you. Angels watch over you. If you forward this to 10 people your prayers would be met; if you don't forward this you will burn in a white dwarf or the purgatory of beige" facebook style; but that would b a bit troll-y/sad. But it did tempt me.

That red nebula is Barnard's Loop (around 630 : -432 : -1230), and the one in front of it is the Witch Head Nebula (around 360 : -397 : -710).

Welcome!

That's not an angel, but a witch. To be precise, it's the Witch Head nebula. You can easily find it on the galaxy map by searching for its name. The striking red one is the Barnard's Loop. The witch, the Loop* and its nebulae are well worth visiting, although going inside the loop proper can be difficult, as most (but not all) the surrounding sectors are currently locked behind a permit. You can find a way in, but depending on your jump range, you might need to use an FSD boost for that - for which you need to have Horizons.

I went there back in the far future of 3302. Back before Bernard's Loop was locked out. Anyone know if us old time explorers will still have our first discoveries there once Frontier finishes whatever they are doing in there?

I don't know for sure, but I would very much expect those discoveries to remain.

The systems are the same as they were (at least, according to the system map), and unless they get completely regenerated, discovery tags should stay.
