Horizons Help! I'm stuck

First of all, how the heck do I get out of this!
Don't laugh, but I rolled off a settlement in my buggy, and now I'm stuck sideways with 2 wheels on the ground, and 2 up against the wall.... cant go forward, cant go back! Wheels wont engage! Can I recall the ship to come and beam me up? Don't tell me that I need to self-destruct and it will cost my 9 million credits to buy a new Python as well?

Secondly, when I do finally get back in the ship, how do I then destroy the Shield Generator in this settlement. There seems to be only one way in, up the ramp, then the generator is surrounded by a building which my lasers on the scarab cannot seem to penetrate. Am I doing something wrong? I also tried targeting the generator with my Python, but cant get a lock on it.

Have you tried all the booster directions - Up and roll left and roll right? You could get someone to give you a push. I think if you self destruct you end back in the ship. (I've not done this myself but I'm sure someone else will confirm)

Log out and start up Vanilla ED, you should end up back in space and back in your ship.

Feel free to then head back to Horizons.

Good idea, but if you want a more rpg approach, I can go there tonight after 1:00gmt and save you, I will try to push you with my ship or my srv.

Also, if you destruct your ground vehicle, you'll get an option to spawn back in your ship. It will not cost you the price of your Python. You will have to buy another buggy though!

1. Use your thrusters.
2. Go around the generators blast shield, then select the generator - there's a small point on the generator that takes damage, let your SRV turret align with that.

Cool! I didn't have the Vertical Thrusters key bound to anything, so I set it to TAB. Used the thrusters to force my way off the wall, now I'm back on terra firma!

Glad you worked it out.

Btw. you don't have to go in SRV if you need just to destroy the generator.
It's a big orange thing, easily spotted even from the ship. Just put a missile or two into it.

I wasn't sure what the generator looked like, but after abit of scouting I found it.

(just in case this is really your first surface operation - if you left her more than two kilometers away, she's probably gone and hid herself on the orbit. You have to call her back)
